Preparation
For the best results from Ronseal furniture chalk paint, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
- Remove any flaking or failing coatings, back to bare wood with sanding
- Previously painted furniture with sound coatings can just be lightly sanded for a key with p240 sandpaper and wipe down with methylated spirits to remove residue and sanding dust
- Bare wood should be lightly sanded with p120 sandpaper for adhesion and wiped down with methylated spirits to remove residue and sanding dust
- Fill any cracks, holes or suface imperfections with a suitable wood filler, such as Ronseal High Performance Wood Filler

Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
- Stir Ronseal Furniture Paint thoroughly before and during use, making sure to include pigment gathered in the top and bottom creases of the tin
- Apply 2 coats with a synthetic bristle brush, allowing 4 hours to dry between coats
