Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt is made from the finest quality ingredients, luxurious in finish, durable in nature and a dream to apply. Dulux Heritage Paint has a timeless colour palette of muted and atmospheric shades inspired by the most beautiful periods in British design history. It's hard-wearing and washable for busy homes. Perfect for interior walls and ceilings any room of your home.
- Accent or complement your new project with Dulux Heritage Eggshell for skirting boards, architrave and other trim areas
To achieve the best quality results, establish that the surfaces are structurally sound, free of imperfections such as dust dirt or any other surface contaminants.
- On new surfaces, ensure the substrate is thoroughly dry before starting your project
- Remove all peeling, cracking or loose paint with a paint scraper or by sanding smooth
- Extra caution needs to be taken if removing paint that is pre 1960s as it could potentially contain harmful amounts of lead
- Any defects, such as cracks or holes need to be repaired with a suitable filler and then sanded down to a smooth finish
- If necessary, sand the project area to produce a smooth and flat finish
- Wash oily and greasy areas with a suitable detergent, rinse clean and then allow to dry thoroughly
- If applying to new plaster or if the surface is either porous or dusty then apply an appropriate sealer prior to painting with Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt Emulsion
Always perform a test area before starting any project to judge the suitability, effectiveness and finish of the product
- It is recommended to use a good quality short pile microfibre roller and a high quality brush
- Stir thoroughly to ensure a good mixture of pigment and paint medium, making sure to mix the very bottom and sides of the tin
- If being applied to a new surface, then dilute the first coat by 10% to counteract any excessive absorption
- To produce a consistent coverage spread evenly in multiple directions taking care not to apply too thinly and overspread the layer
- The standard application is two coats to achieve a solid and opaque finish, though further coats may be necessary depending on the quality of the undercoat and the previous colour of the substrate
- Allow 4 hour drying time between coats
- To clean the equipment after use, rinse with clean water and wash hands with warm soapy water
Please Note: It is not recommended to apply Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt by spray
To maintain the finest finish of Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt, a re-coat may be required. When it’s time to freshen up, repeat preparation steps above and apply re-coat. This will only be necessary if the surface becomes tired or marked.
